Purple Day International is on 26th March 2014.
To spread epilepsy awareness our team organized a workshop for teachers from the municipal special schools for the mentally challenged and also teachers from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan and Mobile Schools.
Over 150 Teachers were trained in ‘How to manage their school children who have epilepsy’. Training was also given for the use of Midazolam nasal spray in the event of a long seizure in the school. Hands on demonstration of the rescue position to be used during a seizure were also taught to all.A special booklet on the do’s and don’ts for the person with epilepsy was distributed to all the teachers. This booklet is in English, Hindi and Marathi.
